Installation Instructions for Extension Jambs

After the installation of a window or door, you may notice that the window or door frame is not the same depth as the wall. This may be due too having thicker walls or windows/door frames that are to shallow. In this situation, people often add window and door extension jambs. An extension jamb is a wood frame that when installed, makes the window/door frame the same depth as the wall thickness. The hardest part of extension jamb installation is shimming the jamb to line up perfect with the frame of the door or window. Shimming can take a lot of time, but by using the Quick Door Hanger instead of shims, installation becomes EZ and NO SHIMMING is required. There are also ZERO nail holes to patch! Click on the instructions below for the correct installation of an extension jamb.
