Doors that Rattle
How to fix a door that rattles. The most likely reason that a door rattles is because the door stop and/or strike plate are not tight enough. View the door rattling video below for an instructional step by step on how to fix this problem. If it is an exterior door, the easiest and best way to stop the rattle is to install exterior weather stripping around the perimeter of the door. This will stop the rattling as well as decrease your energy bill.

A Door that Sticks or Rubs

Usually there are 2 reasons why a door sticks, the first is that the humidity has made the door swell, the second and most likely reason is that one or more screws in the top or middle hinge have come loose. I simple tightening of these screws may fix the problem. However, often times the screws have been stripped in the wood and you will not be able to tighten them.
